Just came back after the day 1 of the flex bootcamp at Infosys Mysore. We had an audience of 150+ developers from various backgrounds (predominantly .NET) at various experience levels. My talk on MXML and ActionScript as well as Flex Event model went on good, there were quite a lot of good questions.
Raghu had a bad throat, but he pulled off his sessions in style as always. The bootcamp hackday is now happening and folks are working overtime to get their applications to win the contest. (Yeah, an IPOD touch is quite a big deal in India!) We met with several talented and enthusiastic developers here and they all were quite impressed by what Adobe Flash Platform can do (given the fact that some of them had their first outing with Flex and ActionScript today).
Off to sleep now, have some more meetings and the hackday evalutation lined up for tomorrow.

Hi Harish
The session was awesome! We really enjoyed it. I admired your way of handling the sessions. Well done man! Keep it up! you have tremendous teaching potential..
However, quite a few of us were unconvinced with the way the project evaluations happened. Our project was perfectly implemented as per the given spec and also we did couple of bonus point spec ( we were not in the huge list of shortlisted). For your information, We have never worked on Flex before. I remember one team which was selected mentioned that his project was not working! Was the importance given only to GUI? not to the functionalities? Had we known this much earlier, we also would have shown our creative skills (would have not spent so much time till 2 pm). Anyhow, my only request is to evaluate properly at least in future sessions. Pls work out some other way of appreciating the participants who have really put their efforts. with over 10 years of teaching & research experience, I just wanted to share this.

Harish,
Session was gr888…not saying this coz i wont the prize, but i learnt lot which i didnt know before!!..as mohan mentioned, even i was not very happy with evaluation as other judges like raghu didnt even have a look at our application which if they had looked at might have given us an opportunity to win touch(i know this sounds over optimism, but again touch is something which really takes our breath away)….
looking forward for something more exiting from Adobe:)
