New Flex 4 theme: Somethinglikemac! Built exclusively using Flash Catalyst drawing

Here is another Flash Catalyst experiment I have been doing through last week. The aim was to build a Flex 4 theme that looks like the mac aqua theme exclusively using Adobe Flash Catalyst drawing tools *only* (yeah, no illustrator / photoshop) The theme isn’t an exact replica of the mac look, it is an extrapolation of sorts. This is work in progress (hence the name Somethinglikemac!), may be at the end of it all, I would be able to make a theme that exactly looks like the aqua theme

Adobe AIR 2.0 beta and FP 10.1 beta are here!

The much awaited AIR 2.0 beta and Flash Player 10.1 betas are now available for download from Adobe labs. It comes with a lot ( I mean a *lot*) of great features.
The global error handling and multi-touch / gesture support are my favorites among others like recording sound using a local microphone without really going through a server. I played around with a few things in the new API’s and I am very excited to see what is possible using the new features. You can view the full set of features here

I will be speaking at the Chennai and Hyderabad editions of Adobe Devsummit 2009. Adobe devsummit is the largest Adobe Flash Platform event in India and attracts a large number of developers working on the Adobe Flash Platform. I will be talking about building great user experiences and Interaction design during my Focused presentation on Adobe Flash Catalyst. Will show off some really cool features of catalyst . I will also be the co-intructor for the User Interface design Tutorial in the second half of the event with fellow evangelist Shyamprasad.
